Winthrop, MA, Modernizes Wayfinding and Communications With Hyperlocal Marketing

Soofa Sign on sidewalk in Winthrop, MA

The Town of Winthrop is bringing Soofa Signs to its business districts, improving wayfinding, streamlining town communications, and enabling local businesses to advertise to residents and visitors alike.

Winthrop is the eighth city in the Greater Boston area to incorporate Soofa Signs into its smart city infrastructure.

Residents and visitors will find real-time community updates, COVID and health updates, transit information, local opinions, news, and more on the newly-installed Signs.

The Signs’ wayfinding features will orient pedestrians in Winthrop’s various business districts, while local businesses can use Soofa to promote their business to the community and build greater brand awareness.

An oceanside community twenty minutes from Boston, Winthrop stayed true to its nautical roots when designing the Signs’ vinyl branding.

The back of the Sign displays a map of the town’s districts and local attractions such as Belle Isle Marsh and Donovan Beach surrounded by a border of ocean waves.

"We are thrilled to bring this state-of-the-art technology to Winthrop. [We] will now be able to better direct pedestrians in and around the Town and communicate with residents and visitors on the street-level. People can also turn to the Signs for real-time updates on transit arrival times and public health guidelines, which is extremely important right now.”
