Three Cities Using Facebook on Soofa Signs

A Facebook widget option recently launched on all Soofa Signs, which gives landowners the chance to connect their city Facebook page to their Soofa Signs. Sharing local updates is now easier than ever for cities, and here are three examples of how they are using Facebook to do it.

Augusta, Georgia

Augusta, Georgia, was one of the first cities to implement our new Facebook widget, and they continue to use it daily for community updates and news.

Their Facebook page, Augusta DDA, is linked to three Soofa Signs around the city, and they share updates like job opportunities, community events and local business happenings.

With over 452,000 people currently living in Augusta, Soofa Signs provide important information for tourists and locals to connect with the city.

“Facebook on our Soofa Signs allows us to readily showcase the DDA's and downtown Augusta's milestones, events and highlights," said Katherine Bonner, Project Coordinator for the Downtown Development Authority of Augusta. “Social media allows us to amplify local voices, and incorporating this applet into our kiosks gives us increased potential to highlight and serve our community.”

Bradenton, Florida

Bradenton is always excited for Soofa updates and giving feedback to our Customer Success Team. They also integrated Facebook to their Soofa Signs early on, and are inspired by new ways they can use their signs in the future.

“Facebook will continue to promote events, share welcome images and post reminders to individuals of important notes of information,” said Christophe St. Luce, Assistant City Administrator for Bradenton, Florida. “The end of 2022 and beginning of 2023 is bringing about a change in information that we share across our social media platforms and we are working hard to produce not only relevant and informative content, but content that is also fun, whimsical and engaging.”

Bradenton’s Facebook page has over 4,000 followers, and will likely grow since both locals and visitors can reference the page on Soofa Signs. Additionally, Facebook and other updates will be seen year round with ease considering Florida’s warmer climate.

Valparaiso, Indiana

The Valparaiso metro area has over 1,000,000 people living there as of 2022, so it’s important for the city to share information widely with as many people as possible. Busier population also means that their six Soofa Signs get lots of foot traffic and interaction especially in their downtown. Valparaiso frequently uses their Facebook page for news, local business shoutouts and other community information.

Having Facebook accessible while people are looking at updates like bus schedules, community news and weather is very helpful for cities to share information and guarantee eyes on it. No other OOH platform has Facebook as part of their display, so we’re always excited to see how cities are using the widget to their advantage.
