Why I Work at Soofa: Growth, Community, Partnership

My journey at Soofa started two years ago. During these two years, Soofa has expanded into more cities than ever before, hosted a diverse range of advertisers on our Signs, and hired amazing people to drive our team’s mission of making cities smart, social, and sustainable. I’ve also grown alongside Soofa, and I couldn’t be more excited for our future together.

 
 

My start at Soofa began during my sophomore year of college.

I was hired as a Marketing Intern after meeting with our current Director of HR, Molly, for a coffee chat. She had also gone to Emerson College and encouraged me to join the team.  I knew I loved learning about innovative ways to engage a community and how to scale a business, which is why I chose to pair my marketing and businesses classes at Emerson with working at Soofa. This was the first time where I saw my efforts and knowledge in advertising having a ripple effect on our team and helping Soofa grow to what it is today.

 
 

Since my start, I’ve had the opportunity to take on projects in government affairs, recruitment, SEO, and upon graduating, I accepted a full-time position in media sales.

I work remotely from my apartment in NYC, but I never feel isolated from the team.

Besides Zooming and Slacking, we also have meet-ups and coworking days where we reconnect with each other IRL. Recently, our NJ/NY team met up for a coworking day near Times Square where we were able to take a break to observe OOH advertising in the center of the Big Apple. 

Right now, I’m working on finding new advertising partners for our current and emerging markets. I love sharing Soofa’s benefits with prospective advertisers and watching their campaigns unfold in the neighborhoods that matter most to them.
